KICK To Rock Hartford Marathon
HARTFORD, Conn. – For the 5th year running, KICK is slated to enjoy the distinct honor of performing at the finish line of the 2011 ING Hartford Marathon, Saturday morning, October 15.
The race, one of the nation’s premier events of its type, was called “the greenest marathon in America,” and attracts thousands of competitors from around the world.
This year’s event begins at 8:00 a.m. with the team relay and 5K races. KICK will perform a full show from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the Bushnell Park Stage at mile marker 26.2, at the park in downtown Hartford. Runners who complete the race will have passed 35 other bands along the route, which winds throughout and along the scenic Connecticut Riverlands.
Road closures begin early. Attendees and supporters are encouraged to arrive early. Complete details and course maps can be found at hartfordmarathon.com.
The band reportedly breathed a collective sigh when they learned their return engagement would buy them at least one more year to put their marathon dreams on hold.
